Eric G. Matlin - Partner
Eric Matlin is a graduate of DePaul University and The John Marshall Law School. He was admitted to practice law in 1978 and has written estate plans for thousands of families, ranging from people with a negative net worth to people worth over $10 million. His book, The Procrastinator's Guide to Wills and Estate Planning, was published in 2004, by the New American Library division of Penguin Group USA and is now available as a free E-book.
Eric gives seminars on estate planning to interested groups and is available for public speaking engagements.
Julie A. Kolodziej - Associate
Julie A. Kolodziej is a 1996 graduate of DePaul University College of Law. Julie concentrates her practice in the area of estate planning; probate, trust administration and probate estate administration; adult disabled guardianships, minor guardianships; decedent's estates; tax planning; and preparation of 706 estate tax returns. She takes great pride in helping clients protect their families in the event of death or disability and in aiding families who have recently lost a loved one to death or disability by providing legal guidance during emotional and confusing times.
Betsy Kadus - Associate
After receiving her undergraduate degree from The University of Illinois- Urbana/Champaign in 2002, Betsy graduated from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago 2006. She concentrates her practice primarily on estate planning and is also experienced in residential real estate, and family law matters, including pre-nuptial agreements.
Damon Doucet - Associate
Damon concentrates his practice in the areas of guardianship, probate and estate administration for disabled adults and decedent's estates. He received his BA summa cum laude from Columbia College and is a 2007 graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Damon is a former judicial intern at the Circuit Court of Cook County, Probate Division, and also served as a legal intern at the Cook County Office of the Public Guardian. While in law school he represented underserved clients in disabled adult guardianship actions as a member of the Loyola Elder Law Initiative. Prior to entering law school Damon served six years in the United States Marine Corps and spent many years as a project and department manager in the healthcare field.
Sherry Dagrizikos - Paralegal
Sherry is a graduate of Robert Morris College in Chicago and has worked in the legal field for her entire adult career. She currently provides paralegal support to the firm's attorneys and its clients. Sherry assists with all facets of estate administration, estate planning, estate taxation and corporate work.
Kathryn Gooss - Paralegal
Kathryn graduated from the Carthage College Paralegal Program. She's had a long career as a technical writer, web-based training developer, and database administrator. She provides paralegal support and handles various technical and administrative tasks.
Charles Febles - Legal Clerk
Charles came to the firm after a successful thirty-five year career in the trophy and awards industry, as both a salesman and business owner. Charles provides administrative support to the staff attorneys and paralegals. He and his wife Iris have been married forty-five years and have two children, Tony and Susan. After retiring in 2004 Charles and Iris relocated from their native New York City to the Chicago area to be near their daughter and four grandchildren. Charles attended the City College of New York and was stationed in Germany as a soldier in the U.S. Army.
